As usual when I have a speaking engagement, I’m full of jitters and other anxieties of the like. So last week while on vacation, I decided to get out and get some fresh air in the summertime CHI. I took the public transportation (CTA red line) to Navy Pier to avoid parking fees and or meters. I initially thought that I was going to just walk the pier, grab a few drinks and get on the Ferris Wheel. Well if you know me, you know I’m always looking into doing something NEW for a change. I was making a pit stop at Navy Pier to clear my mind, get any last thoughts out for my upcoming presentation the next day and gear my wallet up for the next stop to Barnes & Nobles, to pick up a load of books (see blog post for current booklist). I never thought my silly self would get on this swing that takes you high in the air and at an amazingly, fast speed too.
Now Navy Pier is obviously a tourist attraction but I believe that us Chicagoans can enjoy the pier too. The tickets to get on the swing were C-H-E-A-P! It was, get this, $6 to ride the swing………$6 …….that’s it, that’s all. Next time you’re in the downtown area of Chicago, go by Navy Pier and swing into the air.
