Earlier this year, I begin writing monologues for women about various relationships that I’ve been in, but will be told by different women. I’m so excited for this production because it is the first of it’s kind for myself as a writer, director and producer.
I felt inspired to do these types of monologues because I know I’ve learned so much from these past relationships and wanted to share with others. Without giving too much away, you’ll have to come see the show for yourself on November 13, 2016.
Here’s the cast of this monologue production (l-r): Quinniya Hearns, Robyn Durham, Crystal Iris, Felicia T. Simpson, Sherell Brown, Shakira Reedus and Marvenna Avery-Cash and yes as you can see, I am also playing two of the women characters. I’m stepping out of my comfort zones of writing to take a shot at acting too in my production, remember my greatest influencer is the talented Tyler Perry. Each of these women have truly bought their “A” game to the rehearsals so far. We have laughed and cried in rehearsals so I know the audience will enjoy this production as well.
Each monologue will give some lessons to be learned and the audience will connect with these women and be inspired to share with others what they learned or others will be healed from personal hurts that they’ve gone through in relationships. Another thing I’m excited about in this production is the V.I.P. reception before showtime with myself and the cast, speaking on healthy relationships in the form of a Q & A.
So get your questions together, get ready to truly be entertained at this production in November. Stay tuned for the flyer and ticket sales info. Follow me on social media to stay informed on all announcements regarding this and other productions.
