Re: Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce (Season 4)
I just finished watching the entire season 4 of Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce on Netflix. I love this show! This season, without giving too many spoilers, the women were all starting over in life so to speak. It reminded me of myself and some of my readers who I’ve seen starting over in their lives as well. I’ve been living in NOLA almost a year now and although that was a starting over journey for me, I quit my full-time job in April (probably wasn’t my smartest idea but I am working part-time for now) to figure out what I really want to do next in my life. If you follow my blogs, then you know that I’ve been dedicating more time to provide you with MORE and NEW content.
Which brings me to the character Barbara (above) from this show who along with Abby, left their safety net careers to launch their own feminist website. Who would dare be so bold to do such a thing like that? ME!!!!! I am really enjoying sharing my thoughts more on this platform and I follow several bloggers who have great careers from their websites. Barbara is the brains of the business if you ask me. Abby is more of the face of the company with some insights of course. It takes courage, money, hard work and a lot of faith to leave your comfort zone and go out there into the unknown. In one of the episodes, they were not happy about the number of traffic coming to their website. OMG I can relate! I used to get down in the dumps about the stats of my website. I’ve read plenty of success stories from bloggers who started from the bottom and now they’re websites are BOOMING with traffic.
Maybe you’ve just started an online business and sales haven’t been as you projected. Don’t worry, keep grinding and researching the trends and you’ll be fine in your due time. You can’t look at someone else’s life and compare your life to theirs. You will never become who they are because that’s not who YOU are meant to be! You can be inspired by their accomplishments but please, whatever you do, don’t copy off of someone else lifestyle or brand.
Now my girl Phoebe, who is such a free spirit like myself, is just strolling through the screen in each episode in her personal life that spills over into her professional life! I can really relate to that. In my personal life, I’ve decided to start eating healthier, budgeting my money better (if that makes sense on a part time budget lol), on the road to fixing up my credit score, getting outdoors more and exercising. All of those things spill over into my career as a writer as well. How so, you ask? It takes discipline to write and it takes discipline to do all of those things I just mentioned. I plan on becoming a successful PAID writer and I need to budget the money I currently have coming in, in order to handle the INCREASE I’m going to receive at its appointed time. Phoebe chose herself for once over any other relationships that she thought was beneficial to her, in this season. It was the start of something greater than she’d ever experienced in her life!
Finally beloveds, think about the people you’re connected to. Do they hinder or help you be better in your life? If they are only around you to use you, GET RID OF THEM! Chose you and surround yourself with the people who will laugh, cry and celebrate with you.
