My Bedtime Routine

Skin care routine before you go to bed
Skin care products for your bedtime routine

Before I even get started, this is a TYPICAL bedtime routine of mine. I don't use this routine every single night or use the same products (I get bored very easily). But, for the most part, these are the majority products that I have been using recently, as a part of my bedtime routine. During Essence Festival this year, I was able to finally get my hands on Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey, 2-in-1 Face Scrub Cleanser and that same line's Revitalizing Face Serum. I've never used facial serums before and to me this serum was a great introductory product for my skin. Before I get straight to my bedtime routine, here's a list of the products that I use below:

Products (left to right in image above):

Below is a step by step guide on how I use the 2-in-1 face scrub cleanser:

STEP ONE: I saturate my face with warm water.

STEP TWO: I squeeze a little bit (the size of a nickel) of the face scrub cleanser into my hands.

STEP THREE: I smooth the product all over my face excluding the eye areas.

STEP FOUR: I use my Foreo facial cleansing brush in circular motions to make sure skin is deeply cleansed.

STEP FIVE: I rinse the product off of my face with warm water and let my face air dry.

Next is a step by step guide to how I apply the revitalizing face serum:

STEP ONE: I fill the dropper with the serum half way with product.

STEP TWO: I place drops of the product on four parts of my face (both cheeks, chin and forehead), avoiding eye areas.

STEP THREE: I rub in circular motions the product and let sit for one to two minutes.

Next, I apply the eyebrow serum because my eyebrows grow thin at the arch. The brush at the end soothes the serum onto my brows so that means I don't have to do anything else with this step.

Lastly, I apply the Clinique overnight revitalizing moisturizer on my entire face and their eye serum (which has a rolling ball that dispenses the serum) underneath my eyes to help with those dark circles. I read somewhere that former singer of Destiny's Child, Michelle Williams, stated that she gets dark circles under her eyes when she drinks coffee. So I've been monitoring my coffee/caffeine intake.

Again, this is a typical method I use for my bedtime routine but feel free to create your own. I enjoy my bedtime routine the most because I'm not rushed and it's a calming mechanism before I prepare for bed. My days are not super busy (thank God) but I still make taking care of my skin a priority in the beginning and at the end of my day.
