Every now and then, I try products from other brands to save my more expensive products longer and I want to show my support as a fellow naturalista and try other products on my hair from time to time. To be honest, some of the alternate products I use work great and are CHEAPER than most of our mainstream natural hair products. I want to share with you my top 4 favorite conditioners below:
Mielle Organics Babassu & Mint Deep Conditioner: I know it's a deep conditioner but it's my main go to conditioner that I use mostly because I'm a true #Maven ..... This conditioner is for damaged or dry hair, it is a protein/moisture replenisher and smells amazing! My scalp begins to tingle as soon as it settles into my hair strands. This conditioner reduces frizz and flyaways. Unless you catch this hot item at an natural hair expo in your area, this product is about $14.

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula with Vitamin E Replenishing Conditioner: I use this next if I'm trying to save the last of my favorite deep conditioner above. But honestly, this conditioner works for my hair and can be purchased for $5. This conditioner has extra olive oil and is for frizzy, weak or color-treated hair. I always use the shampoo from this line as well whenever I use this conditioner.
Maui Moisture Thicken & Restore + Bamboo Fibers Conditioner: This conditioner was given to me and I use it when I condition my hair overnight. It says that it is for weak, brittle hair but I use it anyway. This conditioner has exotic bamboo fibers, rich castor oil and lush neem oil. You can purchase this for under about $10.
Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Conditioner: This conditioner gets pulled out of my vault of hair products on special occasions when I'm really trying to pamper my hair strands. It's reminds me of the clay masks that you put on your hair so please don't expect a pleasant smell. It contains shea butter, peppermint and apple cider vinegar. You can purchase this product for about $10.

According to a blog I found on Mielle Organics website, "Deep conditioning is not a new technique, and if you have been natural for a while, then you probably know all about it. We put our hair through so much manipulation with washing, styling, and detangling. Deep conditioning provides a preventable measure for your hair so that when you style wash and manipulate your hair, there is as less damage as possible. It should be part of your regimen that should remain consistent through Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter (Mielle Organics, 2019).
Conditioning your hair is so important no matter what your wash day routine is, hair type, length or hair texture that you have. I know that we aren't advised to leave the conditioners in our hair for long periods of times, but I haven't had any problems whenever I leave conditioner in my hair overnight for example, from any of these brands. But as I always say, do what works for you and your hair boo.
