I found the Makeup Eraser on Instagram and had to try this product out myself. I joined the efforts of the #MUEfam with keeping our environment free of waste. Did you know that, globally, 1.3 billion wipes are used everyday? What a waste! I have decided that I will only be using this makeup eraser product instead of using the makeup remover wipes. But before I get into why I made this choice, check out the brand's video below on how you can help save the planet using their product:
The mission of the Makeup Eraser is "Dedicated to creating the most sustainable makeup removal product in the world. By using only the most accessible resource available: WATER. Driven by millennials that truly believe we can eliminate the 3rd most wasteful product in the world. WIPES." #nomorewipes
MY EXPERIENCE:
This product benefits all skin types (sensitive, prone to acne, oily, dry, etc.). It is 100% vegan and it does not contain any soap or other chemicals. The packaging was so beautiful. It came in a branded pink box that had important messages about the product and facts about how this product helps save our planet. I was so excited to receive a sample of the product in the box and almost thought it was a face mask lol, which I'm a fan of also. To test the product, I had on mascara, blush, foundation, concealer and a setting powder as if I was ready for a photo shoot for my blogs. The MUE erased ALL of the products off of my face. Another time, I used only a concealer, foundation and eyeshadow and it happened again, all of the makeup was removed. I am highly impressed with this product and I recommend this to anyone who wears any amount of makeup products.
Here are the steps to use this product:
STEP ONE: Wash the Makeup Eraser before you use it to activate the fibers.
STEP TWO: Wet a section of the cloth in warm water.
STEP THREE: Rub in a circular motion to erase the makeup.
STEP FOUR: Hang up your cloth to dry until it's time to wash it.
STEP FIVE: Complete your routine skin care regimen.
According to the brand, "Bath towels are typically woven in a loop or pile that is absorbent. MakeUp Eraser is made up of millions of tiny hairlike fibers that stand straight up and when wet, work together to reach and suction all makeup, dirt and oil out of each individual pore. General microfiber cloths are made with a conjugation of polyester, polyamide, and polypropylene and can be abrasive to the skin. The Original MakeUp Eraser is a premium plush polyester blend designed for makeup removal for sensitive skin and dermatologist approved."
If you work in television, theater or film, here's another clip of how the Makeup Eraser works on removing heavy applications of makeup as seen on the hit television show, The Doctors.
