“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.” -William James
Happiness, peace, joy, success and even health starts in the mind. We are shaped by our thoughts and because of that we often become what and who we think we are. If we are constantly thinking and speaking negatively, we will become the negativity that is formed in our minds. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that as we think – so we are. It will become evident to others in the way we talk, dress, act and the company we keep.
If we shift our mind to focus on positive thoughts, affirmations and scriptures we will be surprised at how beautifully we are transformed.
Spending time changing my thoughts has literally transformed my life. However, this did not come easy. I had to train my brain to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. This had to become a daily choice. I had to choose to find the gold within myself. I had to stop highlighting the dirt.
Often, we feel as if there is an overwhelming force trying to prevent us from achieving our goals. That force is negative thoughts. These thoughts can impact our physical and mental health. Those negative thoughts develop into depression, anxiety, weight gain or loss, stress and the list goes on and on. Let’s face it, none of us want the negativity dominating our lives. The key to combating negativity is using positive meaningful affirmations.
It is a widely known fact that many of us speak to ourselves in ways that we would never dream of speaking to those we love and care about. We are quick to pick out what is wrong in our lives and express the negative feelings we have towards our self.
If I asked you right now to make a list of all the things you like about yourself and all the things you wish to improve, I am certain that 90% of us would have a longer list of “improvements” then the list of things we like.
We tend to speak life into others, but we forget to use those same skills when it comes to us. Just think about it, when friends are faced with problems or challenges, we are there to offer advice and support. When they come to us with their success stories, we are there to celebrate, encourage and support them. It is important for us to appreciate the positive things in ourselves and celebrate our own success.

Did you know that your mind affects your actions far more than any other physical part of your body? Our minds have the power to help us realize our dreams and it also has the ability to speak them into fruition. There is power in the tongue to speak life or death over any situation (Proverbs 18:21). Negative thoughts bring destruction; positive thoughts bring life.
One of the easiest ways to begin that process is through the use of affirmations. The mind-body connection is strong. Shifting your language can have a profound effect on your lives.
The first step to a transformed life is shifting your mind and demonstrating self-love.
Affirmations:
Motivate.
Keep the mind focused on the goal.
Influence the subconscious mind and activate its power.
Change the way you think and behave, and this can bring you into contact with new people, who can help you with your goals.
Remember positive statements make you feel positive, energetic and active, and therefore, put you in a better position to transform your inner and external worlds.
When and how to repeat affirmations:
Devote some special times during the day to repeating your affirmations.
Repeat them wherever you are, whenever you want and whenever you have the time.
Affirm with love, faith, feelings and interest. We must feel and believe that our desire has already been fulfilled. This kind of thinking will accelerate its fulfillment.
It is natural for the mind to bring up doubts and negative thoughts, especially if your current environment and situation are very different from what you want to achieve. However, I encourage you to persevere and do not let your negative thoughts and doubts conquer you.
So, when self-doubt starts to rear its ugly head, and you find yourself questioning and second-guessing not only your choices, but who you are, here are some affirmations that can remind you of who you are your worth and your success.
Here are 3 Affirmations that you can incorporate into your daily lives:
I release my need to impress others. I know that I have nothing to prove. I choose to accept myself just the way I am!
I am ready to show the world who I am and what I have to offer. No one can stop me from fulfilling my purpose.
Instead of complaining that I do not have enough time today, I will use the time I do have in a way that honors my values and my goals.
The #1 Key to a transformed life is by the renewing of your mind. Fix your attention on the best and you will become the best. God has given you the power to overcome negative thinking. Don’t put it off. Breakthrough this barrier. Transform your mind and your life has no choice but to follow.
